Even though I didn't see it in reality in Gallery Kamel Mennour in Paris, I get the creeps just looking at the photos of this amazing installation Under the Water by Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata. He depicts the catastrophes that have wreaked havoc in Japan last year using elements of wood furniture in a reference to all those bits of broken wood carried along by the receding tsunami, which saturated the ocean surface with their sheer quantity. The artist turns the world upside down, so that the surface of the water becomes the sky.Via Feedgeeks.

"Adult smokers are the societal norm, so I wanted to isolate the viewer's focus upon the issue of smoking itself. I felt that children smoking would have a surreal impact upon the viewer and compel them to truly see the acts of smoking rather than making assumptions about the person doing the act. To assure you of the safety of the children, there were no real cigarettes on set. Instead, chalk and sticks of cheese were the prop stand ins, while candles and incense provided the wisps of smoke."
