Absence of Water is a photographic series by Italian artist Gigi Cifali currently based in London. Having been built in the late Victorian period, public lidos and baths were at the peak of their popularity in the 1930s. Gradually, living conditions and tastes have changed, resulting in a
drop of attendances, leaving the public pools uneconomical to run. Many
fell into decay and were demolished. With the absence of water as well as the absence of human life these decaying landscapes gives us a beautiful, nostalgic peek into a lost past. And if you have five minutes more you should check out his series End of a Dream – a series of the wreckage of the Costa Condordia - very arty! Via Ignant.

Lido di Jesolo
I've never been to Jesolo Beach in Venice but I've seen and stayed in my share of obscure holiday appartements in my childhood. The real mission in this series Behind the Edge by Manhattan based photographer Luigi Bonaventura is to show each structure as its Platonic ideal: that is, as the architect imagined it, not as it all too often looks in real life and mixing color encourage your own imagination around the picture. Via Present and Correct.

Hutt Lagoon
Wauw - what is this? It's looks like something wood-ish, but no – not this time. These amazing images by Australian photographer, Steve Back are taken from an aircraft while traveling over Hutt Lagoon in
Kalbarri, Western Australia. Captured over the course of three years,
the un-doctored photos are a striking representation of the largest
micro algae production plant in the world. Reflecting hues from bright
orange to hot pink, the seemingly un-natural colors are the fortunate
consequence of an organically produced beta carotene in the water. Wauw nature! Via Trendland.

Tomorrow is the opening of Turkish born – Danish based artist Evren Tekinoktay’s first solo exhibition, U, in Denmark at Imo in Copenhagen. We love her collage layered paintings where cut-outs and photos overlap. Stunning work!

Beloved Books
We know it's very old fashioned to prefer a book over an iPad. Call us hopeless romantics but we love the feeling of the paper, the smell of the print, browsing the pages ... And the two best places to buy books in Copenhagen is Thiemers Magasin in Tullinsgade 24 and Cinnober in Landemærket 9. At Thiemers Magasin you will find a good selection of novels and children books, and the owner is always in for a chat while she makes coffee or tea. Cinnober presents a hand-picked selection of international, visually inspiring books on graphic design, illustration, street art, fashion, architecture and industrial design. They also have a great selection of notebooks, postcards and original drawings by danish illustrators.

Prag in Copenhagen
Until recently this shop was the oldest porn shop in the world showing people with no clothes, but now Katrine Prag and We Do Voodoo has turned the place into a vintage shop full of clothes to put on. It's located at Vesterbrogade 98A in Copenhagen. We especially like the hats on the mannequins!
