Simple and strong branding for New York based photographer Ryan Slack, designed by Studio Newwork – also based in New York. The focus was on clean typographic design not too elegant with a simple colour palette: red on white to reflect vitality and energy of the photographer himself. The red logotype fits in a thick frame, and it gives a pop yet authentic impression. Nice work! Via Good Design makes Me Happy.

FAUX Friday

Normally I'm not really a marble-kind-a-girl, but I really like these cool posters. Artist, Susan Arnild has contributed to the making of the marble imitation in the posters series FAUX, available in Playtype Concept Store. In addition, Playtype designers Jess Andersen, Andreas Peitersen and Stefan Friedli have developed a brand new type – also called FAUX. Soon available in Playtype font shop. The more I see, the less I know for sure (John Lennon).

Flexible Textile Logo

This simple typographic logo with a lovely neon colour palette and incredible patterns designed for TextileLab and TextileMuseum by Dutch design studio Raw Colour, is a really cool and flexible visual identity. The work of Raw Color reflects a sophisticated treatment of material and colour by mixing the fields of graphic design and photography. W for Wauw or for Whitney Museum

Clever new visual identity for the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York by the small and independent Amsterdam-based graphic design studio Experimental Jetset. The new logo works around the concept of the "responsive W", combining it with the typeface Neue Hass Grotesk to create a logo which can easily by applied to both marketing material and products. The redesign is in preparation for The Whitney's move from is current location on Madison Avenue to a new museum designed by Renzo Piano at the start of the High Line. Via HUH Magazine.

Notting Happened On This Day is a project by Fatti Burke – a graphic designer and illustrator living in Dublin City with his hamster Steven Gerrard. Scientists have pinpointed the 20th Century’s most boring day as April 11, 1954, and Fatti Burke have managed to show the boring news in a very interesting way. So cool!
