I don't know what it is about weavings for the moment, but I absolutely wauw it and the past couple of months, while I've been seeing more and more of it, I've been thinking of buying one myself, just to try it out... One thing is for sure though – it'll take me a very long time, and I will probably never do anything as beautiful and simple as these weavings by Brook&Lyn. They are truly amazing and I love the colours! Mimi Jung and Brian Hurewitz founded their creative studio in 2009, where they also produce handmade one-of-a-kind wooden furniture, ceramics, housewares and jewelry.
Painted Plains is a series from Avo of hand painted rugs from cowhides decorated with bold graphics to create a modern juxtaposition between material and pattern. The designer behind these fantastic rugs is Brit Kleinman, currently based in Brooklyn. Brit takes an anthropologic approach to design, studying how objects that surround us reflect the culture in which we live. From travels around the world to daily adventures, Brit gathers inspiration from the ingenious ways people find different solutions to similar problems. The rugs are available upon request here.
