Who Can? Studio Twocan!

It's no secret - we love ceramics! And we're blown away by these beautiful yet quirky cement ceramic vessels by Australian design duo Studio Twocan. Twocan is run by two sisters  – Becc, graphic designer and Maddie, artist – who challenge the ordinary and each other. In the process to produce wonderful and meaningful work they borrow equally from the design and art worlds, combining their skills and knowledge. So inspiring! Via Present and Correct.

Bleu Blanc Rouge and a little yellow

Painted Pieces

Too difficult to pick a few, so this post goes on and on and on – cause they are all amazing, these colorful, graphic origami painted wood pieces by New York based Korean artist Zin Helena Song! Build with Binary

Binary is a series of playful and nice coloured blocks by Epiforma, a multidisciplinary design studio based in Portugal. Inspired by the shape of an hourglass, Binary was designed to let people enjoy time creating an array of possible ephemeral installations with it’s pieces being mouldable and flexible. Kind of Maiken Bendt-ish...

... with the robes and all, was my friends comment on a figurine by Louise Hindsgavl. Oh yeah, I replied, but the truth is, that I've never heard of the danish artist Maiken Bendt before, so I googled. And I found her, and I liked what I found. Time Stamps

I'm totally in love with these brilliant and quite inspiring time stamps by Maker of Things (as he call himself) Eric Trine. He calls them time stamps because the elements are a myriad of things in his studio – client projects, personal projects, plants, comissioned furniture etc. – all within arms reach. Visual studies only existing in their documentation – and in Ongoing Arrangements. So clever!

Not so itsy bitsy tini wini

Fantastic bathing suits and caps cut and crafted out of beautiful Japanese paper by American artist Kristin Martincic. She grew up swimming and believes that being submerged makes us consider our bodies in new ways and affects how we navigate through space. She uses bathing suits and environments associated with water to reveal the fine line between public and private, intimacy and exposure, skin and clothing. Sure makes me think of the times when modesty required apparel to cover up more of the body, than now a days with all the itsy bitsy tini wini bikinis ... Via The Jealous Curator.
