Just Nice
Australian designers, Daniel To and Emma Aiston, established the design studio DANIEL EMMA
in 2008, to enable them to express their thoughts through Industrial
Design. Their studio works on a large variety of projects, ranging from
desk objects to installations. They look to create the unexpected from
simple objects using simple forms, drawing influence and insight from
the diverse culture that Australia presents them with. Their designs aim to be ‘just nice’ and that's exactly what they are! Shop here. Via Arcademi.

Big horns for Smallhorns
London based artist Sophie Smallhorn
exhibits internationally and is commissioned by both private and
corporate clients. And I see why. Her talented work explores the relationships between colour,
volume and proportion in such a beautiful, graphic way. It looks so simple but trust me - it ain't! Since I loooove wood I choose to show her work with wood and acrylic, but do yourself a favour and check out some of her silkscreen prints here and here. Via Trendland.

W for Wauw or for Whitney Museum
Clever new visual identity for the Whitney Museum of American Art
in New York by the small and independent Amsterdam-based graphic design studio Experimental Jetset. The new logo works around the concept of the "responsive
W", combining it with the typeface Neue Hass Grotesk to create a logo
which can easily by applied to both marketing material and products. The
redesign is in preparation for The Whitney's move from is current
location on Madison Avenue to a new museum designed by Renzo Piano at
the start of the High Line. Via HUH Magazine.

Lido di Jesolo
I've never been to Jesolo Beach in Venice but I've seen and stayed in my share of obscure holiday appartements in my childhood. The real mission in this series Behind the Edge by Manhattan based photographer Luigi Bonaventura is to show each structure as its Platonic ideal: that is, as the architect imagined it, not as it all too often looks in real life and mixing color encourage your own imagination around the picture. Minimalism to its Maximum
The art by textile designer and artist Vibeke Rohland, living and working in the heart of Copenhagen, is rooted in tradition as well as modern contemporary art. It seeks the basic form of pattern, the geometric simplicity and minimalism to its maximum, and she has neutralized the content of symbols via the juxtaposition of the signs and their reduced form. Her work goes straight in to my simple graphic designer heart and fills it with total pleasure!
