In the series Posts by Firat Erdim, the artist has systematically taking apart
standard 6x6 douglas fir and cedar posts, and pieces of salvaged timber
through cutting and splitting, to re-build them as accumulated,
sedimentary constructions. While some of the
Posts are literally taken apart and re-constituted, others are
inscribed with saw and gouge and inked as wood-block printing
instruments. Wood-love...

Wild Beasts
After all the nice, clean design it's time for some disturbance! Here are some masks by artist Josef Mrva, who is a supporter of contemporary art and things ugly, rough and uncomfortable rather than charming and "beautiful". Via Lustik.

Fascinating Façades
This beautiful book by architect Henry Delacroix, published in France in 1936, is filled with drawings of shop facades – mostly in Paris – done by different architects. Absolutely love the typefaces, colors and materials from this decade! Via Present and Correct.

Icônes
Beautiful photographic work realized for the decoration and furnishing of Lhotel, affiliated with the Lausanne Palace by designers Laetitia Florin and Dimitri Bähler. The brief was to reuse/modify the old pieces of furniture of the Palace, currently amassed in big storerooms. The purpose was to keep the memory and the link with the long-established classical hotel. Instead of using these old elements to make new objects, they decided to magnify the beauty of all the spare parts. The forgotten scraps became iconic.

Confessions in Las Vegas
As they say, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas - but
what if we could share with full discretion? Confessions by one of my favorite artists Candy Chang is a public art
project that invites people to anonymously share their confessions and
see the confessions of the people around them in the heart of the Las
Vegas strip. Via Lustik.
