I love these floating color exploding landscapes made by Brazialian artist Pedro Varela. He uses simple materials such as ballpoint pens and color markers on rice paper, cut paper, and – like on these examples – self adhesive vinyl and some traditional materials to build cities and other utopian landscapes immersed on an atmosphere of fables and silence. Have a floating, color exploding weekend!

Naturaleza Muerta
First I fell for the paintings by Argentinian artist and graphic designer Hernán Paganini shown at BrownPaperBag but passing by his Flickr I found his installations made out of bits and pieces of this and that – some from the series Naturaleza Muerta / Still Life for Catalogue Magazine. Love it!

Ballarina Ghosts
As if the idea of a dancing ghost ballarina in porcelain isn't spooky enough – just add 3 legs instead of two and you'll have spooky with spooky on top! On the other hand – does ghosts have feet...? Anyway I love these fantastic sculptures by Christiane Haase. Via Lustik.

Cardboard Collages
I love these sculptural collages made from found cardboard. Artist Ryan Sarah Murphy is driven by process and repetition – collecting, sorting, sectioning and deconstructing) and her work deals with issues of containment, restraint, architecture, landscape and the boundaries between the private and the public self.
